Literature Text

1
at nightfall
the garden of death
sprang to life
sprinklers
spinning

2
sudden song
from up above
the rape covered hill...
only hinting at harbouring
a red haired girl

3
worried hands
endlessly untangling
a clover

4
Original:
jag väcks
av en fjäderklädd mistlur
i gryningen
övervägs nymfparakit
till frukost

Eng:
awoken
by a feathered foghorn
at dawn
considering cockatiel
for breakfast

5
old man
with a tight leash
straining–
not to walk faster
than the puppy

6
balmy...
I'm watched by a million
dandelion eyes

7
sound of rain...
an ambulance approaches
passes

8
heavy rain...
my wife at the window, hoping
for a thunderstorm

9
midday sun
a dewdrop hiding
in a hedge rose

10
renovation...
Gottsunda centre overrun
with Combine forces

11
bluest blue
sky between branches
greenest green

12
Original:
på sommaren
flockas de kring buskarna...
feriearbetare

Eng:
in the summer
they flock around the bushes...
holiday workers

13
"It's mine! It's mine!"
the seagull wont share
his popcorn

14
the future is now–
flipping
pages in Second Foundation
sipping
my self-heating coffee
For the 2011 June Haikuthon over at :iconthe-haiku-club:

1: Walking past Uppsala old cemetery I was startled by the sudden burst of motion and noise from the automated sprinkler system.

2: If I could change the name of just one flower... Just a glimpse really, was on my work bike rushing to answer a panic alarm (false though).

3: Work. Alternative version:
worried hands
untangling a clover
endlessly

Which one do you like more, and why?

4: Dang that bird can sing, loudly.

6: The dandelion seed balls looked like eyeballs following my around. Or maybe I was just paranoid that day...

7: Was actually written on the 19th... man I'm far behind.

8: She really likes a good thunderstorm.

9: Hedge roses are her favorite.

10: I was playing a lot of Half Life 2 at the time.

14: I didn't even know self heating food was available to buy. Turns out they've been around for more than a hundred years [link]
